The Ministry of Finance launches on Monday the eighth edition of the TEZAUR state bond program for this year, until September 4, allowing Romanians to invest in state bonds with maturities of 1, 3, and 5 years and annual interest rates of 6.20%, 6.75%, and 7.15%, respectively. The income obtained is tax-exempt. The state bonds have a nominal value of 1 leu and are issued in dematerialized form.
When and where can state bonds be purchased:
Between August 10, 2026 - September 2, 2026, through the Ghișeul.ro platform;
Between August 10, 2026 - September 3, 2026, online, only by individuals who are registered in SPV for bonds issued through the units of the State Treasury. The operations that can be performed online are: opening a subscription account in the name of the investor at a selected State Treasury unit, subscribing to TEZAUR state bonds, transferring amounts from the investor's subscription account to a bank account. Between August 10, 2026 - September 4, 2026, at the headquarters of the State Treasury units;
Between August 10, 2026 - September 3 in urban areas and August 10, 2026 - September 2 in rural areas, through the postal subunits of C.N. Poșta Română S.A.;
Individuals who are at least 18 years old at the time of subscription are eligible. The funds obtained by the Ministry of Finance as the issuer, as a result of the issuance of state bonds, will be used to finance the budget deficit and refinance public debt.
