The Ministry of Finance launches a new edition of the Tezaur program on Monday, October 5, intended for individuals who have reached the age of 18, who can invest until November 6, 2026, in government securities with a nominal value of one leu and maturities of 1, 3, and 5 years, at tax-exempt annual interest rates of 6.50%, 7%, and 7.50%, respectively. The securities, issued in dematerialized form, can be purchased through Ghișeul.ro, the Virtual Private Space, State Treasury units, and Romanian Post subunits.
Through the Ghișeul.ro platform, subscriptions are available until November 4. Online, through SPV, the securities can be purchased until November 5, and at Treasury offices until November 6. Through Romanian Post, the period is October 5–November 5 in urban areas and October 5–November 4 in rural areas.
The income obtained is tax-exempt, and the annual interest is paid on the dates specified in the issuance prospectus. The securities can be transferred and redeemed early. Investors may make one or more subscriptions and cancel them during the subscription period. The funds raised will be used to finance the budget deficit and refinance public debt.
