Traffic Police said Tuesday that reports claiming coaches carrying protesters were being stopped at the entrance to Bucharest were not confirmed. The police are not restricting coaches’ access to the capital, the institution said.

Traffic on Iuliu Maniu Boulevard is moving under conditions specific to the time of day, while traffic crews are present to keep vehicles moving and ensure the safety of road users.

Police officers are carrying out checks to ensure compliance with regulations governing traffic on public roads and to prevent incidents. Similar actions are also taking place on the other roads leading into Bucharest, depending on traffic volumes and the situation on the ground.

At the same time, the Bucharest Police is mobilized to ensure public order and safety, as well as the safe conduct of the demonstration. Traffic Police emphasized that the presence of officers in access areas is intended to monitor traffic and does not represent a measure to block the coaches.
