On Wednesday, between 11:00 and 13:00, town hall and social assistance employees will go on a nationwide warning strike in protest against the austerity measures announced by the Government. Around 16,000 employees from more than 1,200 town halls and 400 social care units are joining the action. The unionists criticize the planned staff cuts and tax hikes, announcing a general strike next week.
