Mayor Dominic Fritz announces the regulation of gambling halls in Timișoara, which will only be allowed in non-residential areas, away from schools.

The mayor of Timișoara, Dominic Fritz, stated that the local administration will not completely ban gambling halls, but will implement strict regulations regarding their placement. Approximately 173 authorized locations are situated too close to educational institutions, which is why their relocation to non-residential areas, away from families and youth, is proposed. Although Fritz considers gambling harmful, he emphasizes the importance of respecting individual freedom.

This decision comes in the context of USR initiatives to limit these activities, and local authorities will propose measures to the local council to create dedicated zones, thus reducing social impact and ensuring stricter control over gambling.
