The prosecutors from Blaj have sent three people to trial for identity fraud and falsification of civil status documents, after a woman in financial difficulties gave birth in a hospital in Sibiu under the name of another woman.

On June 18, 2023, the biological mother used the false documents of another woman to be admitted, and all medical records were drawn up under a fictitious name. The husband of the false mother signed a false declaration at the Civil Registry, obtaining the birth certificate of the girl, in which the two were listed as parents. Additionally, the defendant requested and received the state child allowance, misleading public officials.

The three defendants are being prosecuted while free for 11 offenses, including identity fraud and use of false documents. The prosecutors have requested the annulment of nine false documents, and the indictment has been sent to the Mediaș Court for resolution.
