The actions of the police target three individuals suspected of forming an organized group for drug trafficking, having connections with drug traffickers from Latin America and Europe. They allegedly planned the periodic introduction into Romania of significant quantities of drugs, including 5 kilograms of cocaine and 8 kilograms of hashish, with a market value of approximately 400,000 euros. On February 4, 2026, one of the suspects was caught in the act while transporting drugs, attempting to escape and causing an accident in which two police officers were injured.

Following the searches carried out in Bucharest, Ilfov, and Constanta, approximately one kilogram of cocaine, hashish, money, and weighing equipment were confiscated. Additionally, another suspect was found with 80 grams of cannabis and 21 grams of cocaine. Among the suspects is also the son of a colonel from the Ministry of Internal Affairs. On February 5, 2026, the D.I.I.C.O.T. prosecutors ordered the detention of the three, who are to be presented to the court for preventive arrest.
