The Romanian tugboat Astana sank on Wednesday morning, 8.6 km from the port of Midia, causing the disappearance of four crew members. The Ministry of National Defense (MApN) announced that the Romanian Naval Forces continue the search for the missing persons, deploying military diver teams in the area of the incident.

At the time of sinking, the tugboat was assisting the tanker Amades when it reported that it had lost propulsion. It was later found capsized and sank rapidly. So far, two bodies have been recovered, and the search for the other three crew members continues. The competent authorities are investigating the circumstances of the incident, and the tugboat's crew consisted of five Romanian citizens.
