The Bucharest Transport Company (STB) announced that the Tatra trams, which have served the city for 53 years, will make their last runs on the weekends of July 11-12 and 18-19. These iconic vehicles, brought from Czechoslovakia between 1973 and 1975, have become an integral part of Bucharest's visual identity. STB invites passengers to participate in this farewell moment, when six Tatra trams will operate on the route.

Over the years, the number of trams has decreased, but many of them have remained functional, being appreciated by drivers for their reliability. In contrast, Prague chose to modernize the Tatra trams, adapting them to current standards. The withdrawal of the Tatra trams has generated nostalgic reactions from Bucharest residents, who fondly remember their journeys with these vehicles. The Tatra trams have transported millions of people and have become a symbol of the city, leaving behind precious memories for entire generations.
