Eugen Bejinariu, the chairman of the SRI Commission, presented on Tuesday the report on the commission's activities for the period of August-December 2025, highlighting that the threats to national security were fragmented and cumulative.

The activity of SRI was conducted within the limits of its legal mandate, but the Commission considers it necessary to maintain constant attention on the proportionality of measures and institutional transparency. Bejinariu mentioned that, although there was political stability, social tensions increased due to austerity measures. The Commission undertook verifications and requests for information on essential topics for national security, including issues of disinformation and cognitive aggression. The arrest of an official from SIS Moldova and two Ukrainian citizens for attempted sabotage were major incidents that generated public discussions and conspiracy theories.

Bejinariu emphasized the importance of cooperation between institutions to maintain a balance between security and fundamental freedoms. The Commission's activities included verifications at SRI units and the analysis of citizens' complaints, with the aim of ensuring transparency and respect for fundamental rights. The conclusions will be included in the Commission's annual reports.
