A man from Vaslui allegedly hid his dead father to collect his pension.

A shocking case was discovered in the village of Vinețești, Vaslui County, where a man allegedly kept his dead father in an armchair for several weeks to continue collecting his pension.

The elderly man, at the age of 97 and a former war veteran, had died, and his son tried to hide this fact. On Friday, when the postman went to deliver the pension, the son said that his father could not come out of the house, but the postman noticed suspicious details, such as the door tied with a string.

Upon entering the house, he found the deceased elderly man in an advanced state of decomposition. The postman notified the authorities, and the body was taken for autopsy. Following the discovery, the son provided contradictory explanations and sought the mayor's help to continue receiving his father's pension. The police opened a criminal case to investigate the circumstances of the elderly man's death.
