Nuclearelectrica has announced that the development of the SMR project at Doicești complies with all the specific stages of a nuclear project, being validated by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The project aligns with international standards and has been developed according to the decisions of the shareholders. Preliminary studies have confirmed the geotechnical suitability of the site, and the FEED 1 and FEED 2 stages have been successfully completed, optimizing costs. Nuclearelectrica emphasizes the importance of securing financing and obtaining the necessary licenses, aiming for an affordable price for the produced energy. The project benefits from financial contributions from the shareholders and credit instruments. Nuclearelectrica considers SMR Doicești a strategic project, with major potential for Romania's energy security, developed in partnership with the USA.
