A commercial vessel that caught fire in the Black Sea, in Romania's exclusive economic zone, reported through the alert system that it was hit by "something drone," said the interim Minister of Defense, Radu Miruță.

For his part, the leader of the Sailors' Union, Adrian Mihălcioiu, claims that the ship was hit by an incendiary drone, dubbed the "dragon drone."

The incident occurred 20 nautical miles from the Romanian shore, in Romania's exclusive economic zone. The 12 sailors on board were rescued by the Coast Guard, which intervened quickly after the alert. The rescue operation took place under difficult conditions, with waves of 2.5 meters.

President Nicușor Dan confirmed that the ship sank, but emphasized that an investigation is necessary to establish the exact circumstances of the incident. The Ministry of Defense has launched an inquiry to clarify the details of this event.
