The Local Council of the Sector 1 City Hall has decided to terminate the contract with Romprest early, which was supposed to expire on June 30, 2033, setting a new termination date for June 30, 2026. Sources within Romprest claim that this decision represents a unilateral termination of the contract, without a complete legal report, and that there is an ongoing lawsuit to clarify the duration of the contract. They warn that such a decision could lead to significant compensation for the local budget.

Deputy Mayor Iulian Hatmanu stated that this is not a unilateral termination, but rather a reduction of the contract term, according to a previous decision of the Bucharest Court of Appeal. Additionally, sources from Romprest accuse the Council of delaying the payment of due debts, following a court ruling that established a significant amount to be paid for outstanding invoices.
