The Sector 1 City Hall has decided, following the unanimous vote of the local councilors, to terminate the contract with Romprest, initially signed for a period of 25 years in 2008. The contract was renegotiated in 2012, but Romprest later contested the awarding of the waste sorting activity. The City Hall claims that the company did not carry out waste sorting at its own facilities and did not meet the investment obligations it had assumed.
Additionally, official documents have been confirmed that attest to the reduction of the contract duration. Currently, the City Hall is working on reorganizing the sanitation service, aiming for efficiency and fair rates, adapted to the needs of the community in Sector 1.
