The Russian Embassy in Bucharest reacted on Friday evening, contesting Romania's accusations regarding the incident in which a Russian drone hit a building in Galați. The embassy claims that Romania has not provided clarifications regarding the national affiliation of the drone and has not presented data about its trajectory, altitude, and flight speed. Additionally, the statement mocks the lack of action by the Romanian Air Forces in neutralizing the drone.

The incident led to the summoning of the Russian ambassador, Vladimir Lipaev, by the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which declared the Russian consul in Constanța persona non grata. The Russian embassy accuses Romania of provocations and anti-Russian propaganda, emphasizing that the incident cannot be considered a hostile action by Russia. The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has urged Russia to cease its attacks on Ukraine, highlighting the responsibility of the Russian Federation in this incident.
