The Russian ambassador to Bucharest, Vladimir Lipaev, stated that his summons to the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is a "propaganda stunt", according to the TASS agency.

Lipaev protested against the accusations of violating Romanian airspace by Russian drones and warned that the expulsion of an embassy employee will have consequences. He claimed that Romania has not presented concrete evidence regarding the drones and accused the Romanian side of unfounded accusations.

The ambassador emphasized that Russia has not sent drones into Romanian territory and warned about the risks of escalating the conflict.

The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that a member of the Russian embassy will be declared persona non grata, and Romania's envoy to Moscow will be summoned for consultations, following the downing of three drones of Russian origin.
