During the meeting on September 29-30, 2025, the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church decided to introduce three saints: Dionysius Vatopedin (May 11), Petronius of Prodromu (February 24), and Nicholas Velimirovici (March 18). Additionally, two new feasts were established: the Veneration of the Icon of the Mother of God from Craiova (August 30) and the Veneration of the Icon of the Mother of God from the Monastery of Dintr-un Lemn (July 21). The Synod also approved the icons and liturgical texts for the 16 Romanians canonized in July 2025.
