Several prosecutor's offices in Romania have reported to the Prosecutors' Section of the CSM that they can no longer access the ECRIS application, which hinders the conduct of judicial activities. Starting from December 11, 2025, access has been restricted only to the staff of the courts and other judicial institutions, forcing prosecutors to request individual access codes for each case.

This complicated procedure will lead to blockages and delays in preparing hearings, affecting the work of clerks and prosecutors. The Prosecutors' Section believes that restricting access without adequate justification undermines the role of the Public Ministry and calls for the restoration of access to court files.
