George Niculescu, the president of ANRE, stated that the price of electricity has a tendency to decrease, even though the VAT rate has increased from 19% to 21%. This increase will affect all components of energy, but the offers from electricity suppliers have started to decrease, with discounts of 15-20%. Niculescu emphasized that this competition among suppliers is beneficial for consumers.

He also mentioned that, although there is an imbalance between the export and import prices of energy, this does not influence the bills of household consumers. With the new storage capacities and regulations to reduce distribution tariffs, the impact on bills will be even smaller. Niculescu encouraged consumers to compare offers and switch suppliers to benefit from the best prices.
