The Constanța Maritime Ports Administration has announced the installation of two autonomous maritime systems, Triton, specifically designed for the detection and monitoring of maritime drones.

The equipment will be placed in the northern and southern breakwater areas and will be operated by specialists from the American company Ocean Aero Inc. These systems will not affect navigation safety, adhering to all necessary security measures. The main objectives of implementing these systems are to protect the port water area and increase the response capacity to security risks.

Triton can navigate autonomously for over 30 days, using solar and wind energy, and can collect data both above and below water.

This measure comes in the context of concerns regarding maritime security, following recent incidents involving drones near the Port of Constanța.
