Hundreds of thousands of pilgrims gathered in Șumuleu Ciuc. Catholic Pentecost brings together believers from all over the world.

In the Franciscan Church of Șumuleu Ciuc, a statue of the Virgin Mary, considered miraculous, attracts pilgrims from all corners. The service has already begun, and the area is full of believers dressed in traditional costumes, including the President of Hungary, Tamas Sulyok. The pilgrims have transformed the entire hill into a place of prayer and communion, many of them coming for several days and staying at the guesthouses in the area.

The journey on foot, spanning dozens of kilometers, is for many an opportunity for peace and reflection. The tradition of the Pentecost pilgrimage has been preserved for nearly five centuries, and tomorrow morning's Liturgy represents the central point of the celebration. The authorities have prepared the event carefully, setting up first aid points and mobilizing additional police, gendarmes, and firefighters to ensure the safety of the pilgrims.
