The opening of the Pavilion of Romania will take place on May 9, 2026, as part of the 61st International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia. Romania is represented by artists Anca Benera and Arnold Estefan with the installation "Black Seas – Scores for the Sonic Eye", a large-scale audiovisual and sculptural work, curated by Corina Oprea and Diana Marincu.

The exhibition will be open for professionals and press between May 6-8, 2026, including a sound performance and two openings. The public will be able to visit the exhibition between May 9 and November 22, 2026, both at the Pavilion of Romania in Giardini and at the New Gallery of the Romanian Institute of Culture and Humanistic Research in Palazzo Correr.

The installation "Black Seas" addresses the Black Sea as an ecological and geopolitical system, interrogating the history and memory related to this space. It functions as a polyphonic orchestra, correlating sound, image, and sculpture, reflecting the complexity and historical layering of the Black Sea.
