The "Romania Without Violence" Commission will have 25 members and will operate for one year, with the aim of addressing the issue of domestic violence and gender-based violence. It was established with 222 signatures from all parliamentary groups, being the largest mobilization for a special commission. Alina Gorghiu emphasizes that there will be no taboos and that victims, NGOs, and specialists will be heard. Statistics show an urgency in addressing this issue, with over 61,000 cases of domestic violence in the first six months of 2025.
