Under the leadership of Mayor Florin Birta, the Oradea City Hall has announced measures to reduce energy consumption in the context of the energy crisis. Public lighting will be turned on one hour later, starting Monday evening at 10:00 PM instead of 9:00 PM, generating a savings of approximately 3.3 MWh per day.

This decision comes after analyzing energy consumption, which exceeds 13,000 MWh annually. The City Hall will also collaborate with the economic environment to shift high energy consumption outside the 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM interval.

Additionally, Termoficare Oradea will begin producing electricity, contributing 50 MWh to the National Energy System. The Oradea Water Company has confirmed that there are no issues with water supply. The government has declared a national state of alert due to the decrease in energy production caused by drought.
