Adopted on August 7, the new Audiovisual Content Regulation Code adopted by the NAC expands the powers of the institution and aligns with the EU Media Services Directive. It regulates both television and online platforms, ensuring the protection of minors through strict bans and clear labeling of sensitive content. Advertising for gambling and food supplements is also restricted. The code allows for the sanctioning of misinformation and supports local production without limiting freedom of expression, promoting partnerships to meet public interest objectives.
