The National Environmental Guard has notified the criminal investigation authorities for the discharge of wastewater into Lake Crețuleasca by the water operator from the Cosmopolis complex.

The National Environmental Guard announced that it has reported the criminal investigation authorities regarding the operator providing water and sewage services for the Cosmopolis complex in Ștefăneștii de Jos, after inspectors found the discharge of household wastewater into the Crețuleasca accumulation lake. The checks showed that this water had a black color and a fecal odor.

The Ministry of Environment emphasized the seriousness of the situation, considering it an attack on public health. Following the inspection, remediation measures were imposed, and a criminal report was submitted for the possible violation of the Water Law. Inspectors discovered that the treatment plant was not functioning properly, and laboratory analyses highlighted exceedances of pollution indicators. The Ministry of Environment requested the application of legal sanctions and emphasized that it will not tolerate such acts of irresponsibility.
