The mountain gendarmes from Brașov intervened on Friday to rescue a group of tourists consisting of four adults and a 3-month-old baby, who got lost on an isolated road in Fundățeica. They deviated from the main road, being guided by a traffic application, and became stuck in mud. Due to the presence of the baby, the lack of phone signal, and the approaching darkness, the intervention was deemed urgent.
The gendarmes managed to locate the group in about 50 minutes, using GPS coordinates. The tourists, panicked but unharmed, were escorted on foot for nearly 3 kilometers to the vehicle, and were then safely transported to the guesthouse where they were staying.
