The Ministry of Environment has announced the start of actions against illegal constructions on the Romanian coastline, beginning with Năvodari, where dozens of such constructions have been demolished. Diana Buzoianu, the Minister of Environment, emphasized the issue of urban abuses over the last 30 years and mentioned that the courts will decide the legality of the existing buildings. An inter-ministerial commission has been established to analyze the legal and cadastral situation of the lands on the coast, with the aim of centralizing data and formulating recommendations for exercising the state's property rights.
Among the commission's recommendations are the initiation of the procedure for delineating the public domain of the state, identifying the cliff and the beach line, taking legal action to reclaim public property, and registering the real estate in dispute. Additionally, it is proposed to update the legislation for the use of the Black Sea beach. The commission will submit the report to the Prime Minister's Chancellery to continue the process of regulating the situation on the coast.
