The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has announced a significant reorganization, which includes the elimination of 216 management positions and a reduction in the number of budgetary authorities by 73, from 166.
These measures, approved through a government ordinance, aim to increase administrative efficiency and reduce bureaucracy, so that farmers receive faster responses and improved public services. According to the ministry, the reorganization will lead to a decrease in salary expenses by at least 10% and will simplify the decision-making process by eliminating institutional overlaps.
The ministry emphasizes that, despite the reduction in administrative expenses, the priority remains financial support for farmers, with personnel expenses representing only 6.8% of the MADR budget. The ultimate goal is to provide more efficient public services and to better coordinate agricultural policies at the national level.
