Over 100 employees from the Vulcan, Lupeni, and Livezeni mines in the Jiu Valley refused to go underground on Wednesday morning, during the first shift, after learning that they would not receive Easter bonuses, according to the Collective Labor Agreement.
The miners were supposed to receive a bonus on Good Friday and another bonus for Easter, but the management of the Jiu Valley Energy Complex (CEVJ) informed them that these benefits would not be granted.
The Chairman of the Board, Andrei Poșa, explained that the company's economic situation, along with strict regulations regarding state aid, blocks the granting of these bonuses. Poșa emphasized that benefits that could later be reclaimed cannot be offered, considering that the company operates under special conditions, being supported by state aid.
