The Giurgiu Court decided, on Monday, to issue a protection order against the mayor of the Izvoarele commune, Silviu Cazacu Marius, aged 45. The mayor is accused of sending indecent photos to a 13-year-old girl through a social media application. According to the order, the mayor is not allowed to approach within 50 meters of the minor and her parents, and contact with them is prohibited for a period of six months.
The conversations between the mayor and the girl were discovered by her mother, who alerted the authorities. Cazacu admitted to sending the photographs but claimed that he did not know the girl was a minor at the beginning of the conversation. He stated that he apologized and takes responsibility for his mistakes, mentioning that he has a family and a child. The case is still ongoing.
