Recently, discussions about harassment in the workplace, including forced kissing, have generated curiosity in the public space. Cristian Jura, a member of the National Council for Combating Discrimination, clarified that while consensual kissing has no legal implications, forced kissing can acquire legal value depending on the context. It can be sanctioned both administratively and criminally, according to Government Ordinance no. 137/2000 and Law no. 202/2002, which regulate moral and sexual harassment in the workplace. Forced kissing is considered an unwanted behavior with sexual connotation, resulting in the violation of a person's dignity. Penalties for such acts vary, with fines ranging from 3,000 to 15,000 lei, and in the case of crimes, penalties may include imprisonment. Jura emphasizes that sexual harassment is prohibited both in public and in private, and individuals who commit such acts can be held accountable depending on the severity of the act.
