Florin Manole, the Minister of Labor, stated that the normative act providing for the increase of the gross minimum wage will be approved within a maximum of two weeks, in order to meet the deadline set by the coalition at the end of last year. The gross minimum wage is expected to rise from 4,050 lei to 4,325 lei starting from July 1, 2026, if the normative act is adopted as planned. Manole emphasized the importance of this measure to avoid unrest among workers and economic unpredictability.
At the same conference, the minister expressed dissatisfaction with the activity of the Territorial Labor Inspectorate in Satu Mare in combating "undeclared work," calling for a more efficient inspection and better results. Manole held meetings with representatives of the business environment and local authorities, discussing the need to address the issue of undeclared work more firmly.
