The High Court of Cassation and Justice (ICCJ) has suspended the decision to establish the Committee for the analysis and review of legislation in the field of justice, initiated by Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan.

The reason invoked by the ICCJ is a "possible abuse of power" in the way this committee was constituted and operates, which raises serious questions regarding the respect for the principles of legality and the separation of powers in the state.

The ICCJ's decision is final and immediately suspends the committee's activity, having a significant impact on the process of amending the justice laws.
