In the last two decades, the number of beer producers in Romania has increased sevenfold, reaching 85 companies, according to the Romanian Brewers Association.

Beer production has fluctuated between 14.9 million hectoliters in 2014 and 20.2 million in 2008, and currently remains close to 15 million hectoliters. Romanian brewers, who represent 90% of the sector, emphasize the importance of a stable fiscal framework to support investments. The sector generates nearly 60,000 jobs and significantly contributes to the national economy, having a positive impact on agriculture and distribution. Direct investments from 2005 to 2024 exceed 2 billion euros, and the industry is committed to sustainable practices, including the use of renewable energy. Additionally, Romanian brewers promote responsible consumption and a fair competitive environment.
