After information circulated in the public space about an alleged assault on a pregnant woman by gendarmes at the Bucharest Tribunal, the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Gendarmerie (IGJR) issued a warning regarding disinformation.

IGJR clarified that the gendarmes did not assault the woman, but intervened to protect her, guiding her to move away from the tense area to avoid escalating the conflict. Authorities emphasized the importance of obtaining information from official sources and warned against the distribution of unverified information that can contribute to the spread of disinformation. The Gendarmerie urged the public to be cautious in the face of false news that can create panic and confusion.
