Oana Ţoiu and her Ukrainian counterpart discussed over the phone about security in the Black Sea, energy cooperation, and global food challenges.

The interim Foreign Ministers of Romania and Ukraine, Oana Ţoiu and Andrii Săbiga, had a phone conversation on Friday, during which they addressed issues related to security in the Black Sea region. Săbiga thanked Romania for its support to Ukraine in the context of a massive attack launched by Russia.

During the discussion, the importance of strengthening regional security was emphasized, especially following a violation of Polish airspace by a Russian missile. Săbiga highlighted the need to accelerate the provision of additional capabilities for Ukraine's air defense, considering the approaching winter season.

The ministers also discussed energy cooperation and the necessary measures to strengthen the resilience of states in the face of common threats, including challenges related to global food security generated by Russia's actions in the Black Sea. Both officials agreed to maintain close contact and collaborate for a safe and united Europe.
