President Nicușor Dan announced the resumption of the Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) program for the 2026-2027 academic year, which will allow 20 Romanian high school students to study in American high schools and live with families in the USA. This program is part of the efforts to strengthen the strategic partnership between Romania and the United States, focusing not only on economic and security projects but also on education. FLEX is recognized as one of the most competitive exchange programs for high school students globally, having a significant impact on the careers of participants.
The interest in the program is evident, with 2,883 candidates for the 20 available spots, highlighting the desire of young Romanians to access quality education and democratic values. The selection procedures will begin soon, and Nicușor Dan emphasized the importance of education in shaping well-prepared and globally connected citizens.
