The Road Brigade has announced that, starting from July 1, the fine point will increase from 202.5 lei to 216.25 lei, equivalent to 5% of the gross minimum wage in the country. This change was determined by Government Decision no. 146/2026. Additionally, tests for reducing the suspension period of the driving license will no longer be held at the offices of the road police, but at the community public services for driving licenses and vehicle registration (DRPCIV). The conditions for regaining the suspended license remain unchanged: the driver must pass the test, must have held a driving license for at least one year, and must not have any unpaid fines. These changes are intended to improve the management of driving licenses and traffic penalties.
