The Environmental Guard has started using drones to detect illegal waste and clandestine landfills, improving the efficiency of inspections. The equipment allows for aerial filming, and the images can be used as evidence in court. In Bihor County, drones have already discovered areas with garbage. The Ministry of Environment states that the images can be obtained without the consent of those targeted, thus facilitating the application of sanctions. The investment in these technologies was 14 million euros, funded through the PNRR.
