The doctor’s murdered maid in Bucharest was detained five days after the crime was committed.

The main suspect in the case of the murdered and burned anesthetist in his home in the Capital was apprehended five days after the crime. It is about the man's housekeeper, a 39-year-old woman, who allegedly confessed to the act but claims she acted in self-defense.

Prosecutors have opened a criminal case for murder, destruction, and aggravated theft, requesting the preventive arrest of the suspect. Investigators conducted searches at her residence and do not rule out the possibility of an accomplice.

The woman used a knife to stab the victim, causing serious injuries, and set the apartment on fire after stealing the doctor's phone. Following the fire, the doctor was found with burns and injuries but did not survive. The woman has been identified and apprehended, and investigations are ongoing, involving multiple institutions. The fire led to the evacuation of 18 people from the building and the transport of two individuals to the hospital due to smoke exposure.
