The tram lines in Bucharest are in an advanced state of degradation, significantly impacting maintenance costs for the manufacturer Astra Vagoane Călători. The maintenance costs for trams delivered in the Capital are 60% higher than in other cities, due to the poor condition of the infrastructure, especially line 32. The manufacturer has a five-year warranty or 300,000 kilometers, being obliged to resolve any issues that arise. The premature wear of tram components, caused by traffic on inadequate tracks, affects not only the wheels but also the electronic and mechanical systems, generating additional costs for the manufacturer. Thus, the deficient infrastructure leads to high consumption of human and financial resources.
