On December 1, 2025, the Day of the Union will be celebrated for the first time with a modern road infrastructure that connects Muntenia to Moldova and Oltenia to Dobrogea, according to Cristian Pistol, the director of CNAIR.

He emphasized that, for the first time, there will be highway traffic on approximately 200 km between Bucharest and Focșani, and by the end of the year, the opening of traffic up to Adjud is expected. Additionally, the connection between Oltenia and Dobrogea is now possible on 465 km of high-speed road, thanks to the completion of the last 12 km of DEx12, Craiova - Pitești.

Pistol promised the continuation of investments in infrastructure, emphasizing the importance of the Union of 1918 as a lesson in perseverance and cohesion. Currently, Romania has 1,368 km of high-speed road infrastructure, with the possibility of opening another 49 km by the end of the year.
