The Danube's flow reached a new historic low of 1,650 cubic meters per second on Sunday, similar to that of 2005, and representatives of the Romanian Waters warn that this downward trend will continue in the coming days due to the lack of precipitation.

In certain areas, such as Corabia, the water level has dropped so much that people can walk across almost to the middle of the water. Ana Maria Agiu, a public relations specialist at the National Administration "Romanian Waters", stated that the situation is critical, especially in the Călărași-Cernavodă sector, where restrictions have been imposed on water use for irrigation.

These restrictions involve providing reduced flows or limiting water use to certain time intervals. The institution's representative emphasized the importance of saving water and using it exclusively for human consumption, to ensure access to drinking water for all.
