The interim Minister of Internal Affairs, Cătălin Predoiu, announced on Friday that the Constanța pilot project had a positive impact, reducing general crime and crime in the school environment. Although progress has been made, serious issues remain such as domestic violence, which has increased by 15%, and road accidents, with a 45% increase in their number.

Predoiu emphasized that, despite these challenges, crime in the school environment has decreased, thanks to dedicated safety programs. He mentioned that new threats, such as the use of drones, require adapted legislation and an integrated response from the MAI structures. Additionally, a plan has been developed to increase the operational capacity of the Coast Guard to respond effectively to these challenges. Predoiu stated that the pilot project was a necessary response to the issues identified following the tragedy of May 2, demonstrating the MAI's commitment to adapting to new realities.
