The Capital City Hall announces the acquisition of 100 trolleybuses and 79 new trams through the Bucharest-Ilfov Regional Program 2021-2027. In recent days, technical meetings have taken place with important suppliers, such as Anadolu, Solaris, BMC for trolleybuses and Astra, Bozankaya, Škoda, Pesa for trams, to prepare for future tenders. These meetings followed a period of market consultation, during which companies submitted observations and requests for clarification.

The tenders will be launched as soon as possible, with the aim of attracting competitive offers. The new vehicles will be modern, accessible, and comfortable, featuring air conditioning, ramps for people with reduced mobility, audio-video information systems, cameras, contactless validators, USB ports, and safety systems. The 79 trams are part of projects to modernize 50 km of tram lines and extend the line from Prelungirea Ghencea, contributing to a more modern and less polluting public transport.
