The Bucharest Court of Appeal rejected the request of the Prosecutor's Office to expel a Palestinian, accused of ties to Hamas, due to lack of conclusive evidence.

The court decided not to expel a Palestinian who has been settled in Romania for 40 years, accused by the SRI of (self)radicalization and subversive activities for Hamas. Furthermore, the judges considered that the SRI did not present concrete evidence to support these accusations. The process continues at the High Court, and the judges emphasized that the expulsion of a person with strong social and family ties in Romania requires very solid arguments. Additionally, age and the long period of residence in the country were important factors in the decision.
