The Municipality of Bucharest has announced a package of 25 measures to reduce electricity consumption.
Mayor Ciprian Ciucu convened a meeting with major energy consumers under the Municipality to establish the measures that will be implemented starting August 5. These measures target institutions under PMB, including STB and Termoenergetica, which will suspend activities such as charging electric buses during peak hours and will reduce unnecessary lighting.
Additionally, the Local Police will notify advertising panel operators to turn off lighting during critical consumption periods. The measures also extend to cultural institutions, which will turn off lighting at night and limit the use of air conditioning units.
Authorities emphasize that these measures will not affect the quality of public services.
