The Brazi power plant, operated by OMV Petrom, will be restarted on Friday morning at 7:00 AM, but only with one 300 MW turbine, due to the water deficit that has affected the county. The total capacity of the plant is 860 MW, providing approximately 10% of the national energy production. The complete shutdown of the plant has led to a significant decrease in hydrocarbon energy production, resulting in a 73% increase in imports.

This situation has already influenced the price of electricity on the stock market, with an average increase of 14% for Wednesday. The water crisis, caused by issues at Paltinu, may have adverse effects on the supply to the population, industry, and electricity and heating production. OMV Petrom estimates that the entire capacity of the plant will be operational starting December 8.
